Smart Volunteering – A New Era of Volunteering in Veria
The project concerns the supply and installation of an application for managing the volunteer registry and volunteer actions for the Municipality of Veria.
The application functions as an integrated information system, providing a unified database for recording, monitoring, and managing citizens who wish to participate in volunteer activities. It serves as a digital volunteer registry, where personal details, interests, and participation preferences are stored. At the same time, it enables the Municipality to organize and showcase its volunteer initiatives, with full documentation, audiovisual material, and easy management.
The system’s main features include:
- Volunteer Registry: electronic profiles with complete information and the ability to be updated.
- Action Management: easy data entry (title, category, description, files, photos, videos).
- Citizen Participation: registration in the volunteer registry, access to available actions, and the ability to declare participation instantly.
- Dynamic updates: municipal services can easily renew and enrich the content through a user‑friendly management interface.
For residents, the application offers full access to all actions, transparency in information, and regular notifications regarding their participation.
For the Municipality, it strengthens environmental and social awareness, facilitates effective planning of volunteer activities, and fosters solidarity and social cohesion.
