The project NAIADES (Integrated Resilience and Environmental Risk Management System) introduces an innovative AI-based digital platform designed for monitoring, predicting, and managing environmental crises with accuracy and speed.

By integrating generative artificial intelligence and next-generation networks, the system leverages real-time data from IoT sensors, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and open environmental datasets, creating digital twins of geographic areas that are vulnerable to environmental threats.

These digital models enable early detection and rapid risk assessment of hazards such as:

  • wildfires,
  • floods,
  • pollution,
  • infrastructure vulnerability.

The system integrates advanced data analytics, computer vision techniques, and predictive algorithms, aiming to generate microclimatic profiles and identify critical intervention points.

A key differentiating feature of the project is its decision support functionality, which provides civil protection authorities and local organisations with actionable insights for proactive environmental risk management.

The project contributes to strengthening resilience to climate change by improving resource coordination, supporting crisis management, and enhancing long-term sustainability planning across multiple sectors.

Its scalable architecture enables deployment in urban, rural, and forest areas, serving as a powerful tool for climate change adaptation and risk preparedness.
