TRUNSPORT
Detailed Project Description
TRUNSPORT (Preparedness and Mutual Assistance Support Services for Trustworthy Cyber-Resilient Operations in Transport and Related Industrial Sectors) is a European project aimed at strengthening cybersecurity preparedness, protection, and resilience across critical transport infrastructures and interconnected industrial sectors.
The project focuses on developing an innovative Cyber Support Hub (CSH), a comprehensive digital platform designed to provide threat and risk assessments, continuous vulnerability monitoring, cybersecurity training, and coordinated incident response support.
A key innovation is the GenAI-supported Critical Infrastructure System Mapper (GenAI CIS Mapper), which leverages Generative Artificial Intelligence to map complex Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures, identify potential vulnerabilities, and deliver tailored cybersecurity recommendations. The platform will also support the evaluation of compliance with the European NIS2 Directive.
TRUNSPORT will validate its solutions through four real-world use cases covering road, maritime, and air transport, including cross-sector dependencies with energy infrastructure.
DOTSOFT S.A. participates as a project partner, leading two pilot use cases focused on securing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) systems. Through these activities, DOTSOFT contributes to testing and validating advanced cybersecurity solutions, enhancing the protection of critical road infrastructures and supporting operational continuity
Type and Scope of Work to Be Provided
Cyber Threat and Risk Assessment: Identifying critical infrastructure assets, analysing vulnerabilities, and developing tailored cybersecurity risk mitigation strategies.
AI-Driven Infrastructure Analysis: Leveraging the GenAI CIS Mapper to map critical systems and provide context-aware cybersecurity recommendations.
Continuous Risk Monitoring and Security Testing: Supporting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, threat monitoring, and cyber-range simulations.
Road Transport Pilot Validation: Testing and evaluating TRUNSPORT cybersecurity services in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) environments, with DOTSOFT leading the two use cases.
Cybersecurity Training and Awareness: Enhancing staff knowledge, preparedness, and response capabilities through targeted training activities.
NIS2 Compliance Assessment: Evaluating cybersecurity measures against European regulatory requirements and identifying areas for improvement.
Mutual Assistance and Cross-Border Cooperation: Facilitating secure threat intelligence sharing, coordinated incident response, and collaboration among critical infrastructure operators.
The project is implemented under the Digital Europe Programme, contributing to a comprehensive European cybersecurity ecosystem that aims to strengthen critical infrastructure protection, ensure transport service continuity, and improve digital resilience across the European Union.
