Flexible Content Uploading
The repository can be populated either with material already held by the organisation or with new material that can be digitised and documented by DOTSOFT, which offers specialised Digitisation and Scientific Documentation services.
Digitisation and Documentation Services by DOTSOFT
- DOTSOFT provides integrated digitisation and documentation services for cultural content, such as books, maps, and historical archives, ensuring that the material becomes available for multiple uses, including research, education, and culture, and that it is promoted with the aim of preserving and highlighting its value.
- Digitisation: preparation, photography, scanning, and processing of digital data in accordance with the Good Practice Guide for the Digitisation and Long-Term Preservation of Cultural Content. Files are produced in multiple formats, such as thumbnails and high-resolution files, with strict quality control based on EKT specifications.
- Electronic Documentation: recording, cataloguing, and creation of metadata in accordance with international standards, such as Dublin Core. Items become searchable through OCR, ensuring full-text search in repositories, web portals, and international databases, such as Europeana, openarchives.gr, and searchculture.gr.
This process guarantees that every digitised object is fully documented, remaining unchanged and valid, with the aim of supporting scientific use, education, and broad dissemination to the public.
