ΕΚΤ Data Platform
Strengthening digital governance and the effective use of public data by the National Documentation Centre & Electronic Content.
The project constitutes Sub-project 5 of the project “Development of the institution, infrastructure, capacities and capabilities for public sector data governance, their availability for reuse and the provision of related services to the public and private sectors in Greece – Phase A” (MIS TA 5158667), implemented under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”.
The project concerns the development of a strategic intelligence infrastructure based on information, public data and indicators, aimed at supporting policymakers, the business community and the research community.
What the project includes
Through the new infrastructure, and based on the responsibilities and institutional role of EKT, the following services will be provided:
a) a Digital Transition (DT) Indicators Observatory for recording and measuring Greece’s achievement of targets in relation to EU target-setting and in comparison with other countries;
b) sharing and exploitation of EKT’s available open data;
c) exchange of Public Data, with emphasis on DT data, with the ability to support multiple modes of cooperation with both the bodies/providers and the subscribers/users of the data, at both operational and technological levels.
At technological level, the platform will be able to securely collect the provided data/indicators by using automated and system-based interoperability methods. In addition, the Platform will support workflows related to the specifications for the organisation, standardisation, typology and semantics of data and metadata, which will be developed by EKT and which must be met for the purposes of data interconnection and information interoperability.
More specifically, this Contract includes the implementation of the following Actions:
- Expansion of EKT’s infrastructure for the creation of a platform for the provision of Digital Transition (DT) Indicators Observatory services.
- Creation of a Data Exchange Platform (EKT Data Marketplace).
- Creation of a platform for the sharing and exploitation of EKT’s available open data.
- Modernisation / upgrade of the technological applications and systems for conducting European statistical surveys.
