Agia Varvara: Smart Infrastructure for Sustainable Urban Development
The project “Supply and Installation of Urban Equipment, Smart City Systems and Smart Sustainable Mobility Solutions” in the Municipality of Agia Varvara is a comprehensive digital transformation initiative aimed at improving citizens’ daily lives, enhancing the efficiency of municipal services, and promoting sustainable urban development.
The project is based on the collection and utilization of real-time data from all installed infrastructure, enabling the Municipality to implement data-driven policies, improve the efficiency of its services, and strengthen transparency.
Scope of Work
Smart Parking through the installation of 102 parking sensors, enabling real-time monitoring of parking space availability.
Violation Management System, supporting municipal services in the efficient recording and management of incidents.
Smart Waste Management, through the installation of 40 waste bin fill-level sensors and specialized software, contributing to the optimization of waste collection routes and the reduction of operational costs.
Smart Waste Management Software and a tablet application for waste collection vehicles, enabling the monitoring and management of field operations.
Public WiFi Access through the installation of three wireless access points, enhancing digital connectivity in selected areas of the city.
Smart Urban Green Space Management, using 40 soil moisture sensors to optimize irrigation and reduce water consumption.
Urban Green Space Management Software for monitoring and organizing maintenance activities.
Central Smart City Platform & Infrastructure Remote Management System, integrating all subsystems into a unified monitoring and control environment.
Upon completion, the Municipality of Agia Varvara will have a modern, scalable smart city digital infrastructure capable of supporting new services and innovative applications, significantly improving the quality of life for its citizens.
The project is implemented in cooperation with AMCO S.A. and is funded under the “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014–2020” Operational Programme through national resources of the Public Investment Programme.
