The project includes extensive digitization, electronic archiving, and scientific documentation services for valuable collections, books, manuscripts, photographs, maps, architectural drawings, museum objects, audio recordings, and historical archives from multiple departments and research centres of the Academy of Athens.

As part of the implementation, specialized book and document digitization equipment, workstations, high-capacity storage systems, accessibility-compliant infokiosks, interactive displays, projection systems, and 3D digitization equipment for objects and statues are utilized. A central element of the solution is the upgrade and redesign of the Academy’s repository through the use of Reasonable Graph, an advanced semantic data management platform supporting semantic technologies, linked open data, and intelligent search across large volumes of information. The repository is interconnected with the National Documentation Centre (EKT) and is compatible with the Europeana Data Model.

In parallel, the project includes:

• Redesign and upgrade of the Academy’s official website.
• Development of new specialized websites for research centres and collections.
• Migration of existing databases and applications to the G-Cloud.
• Development of mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) applications.
• Interactive tour applications.
• Digital educational games.
• Digital timelines and cartographic atlases.
• Georeferencing and presentation applications for cultural and scientific content.

The project covers activities for:

1. The Central Library of the Academy of Athens.
2. The Research Centre for Atmospheric Physics and Climatology.
3. The Research Centre for Greek Folklore.
4. The Research Centre for Modern Greek Dialects and Idioms.
5. The Research Centre for Greek Antiquity.

In addition, the project includes historical and scientific data processing and analysis, transcription services, philological editing, production of promotional videos, development of interactive cultural experience applications, and creation of multilingual content.

The solution contributes significantly to the preservation and promotion of the scientific and cultural wealth of the Academy of Athens, providing modern digital services for access, research, and cultural experiences to researchers, educational institutions, and the general public.
