Petralia Archive: Digital Historical Archive of the Petralia Family

Digitization, scientific documentation, and digital presentation of the historical archive of the Petralia family through modern web-based and interactive applications.

DOTSOFT S.A. collaborates with the non-profit organization “Cultural and Historical Archive of the Petralia Family” in the implementation of the project “Digitization, Documentation and Promotion of the Historical Archive of the Petralia Family.” The project focuses on the digitization, scientific documentation, and digital promotion of a particularly important political and historical archive that reflects the continuous presence and activity of the Petralia family from the establishment of the modern Greek State to the present day.

Project Objective

The archive consists of 3,257 high-value historical records, including printed and photographic material, historical documents, and rare archival items related to significant political and social periods of Greek history. Particular emphasis is placed on records concerning the period 1912–1922, the Interwar Period, the early post-war years, and the more recent political history of Greece.

As part of the project, DOTSOFT S.A. is responsible for:

  • The digitization and processing of the entire archival collection.
  • The complete scientific documentation and cataloguing of the archival records.
  • The registration of the digitized content in a specialized archival management platform.
  • The development of a web portal for the presentation of the historical archive.
  • The implementation of interactive and educational applications.

The solution contributes significantly to the preservation and protection of an important part of modern Greek political history, while enhancing digital access for researchers, educational institutions, and citizens to rare historical content through modern digital cultural heritage management technologies.

The project is funded through the Public Investment Programme of the Ministry of Development and Investments.
