Thessaloniki Concert Hall: Digital Promotion of Cultural Heritage
Digitization, documentation, and development of interactive digital applications for the promotion of the cultural and historical heritage of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
The project “Digital Actions for the Promotion and Preservation of the Archives of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall” is being implemented by DOTSOFT S.A. for the Thessaloniki Concert Hall Organization, with the aim of preserving, digitally managing, and promoting the organization’s cultural and scientific heritage through modern digitization and interactive presentation technologies.
Project Objective
The project includes the organization, digitization, and scientific documentation of a large volume of cultural material, such as event programmes, posters, architectural plans, historical photographs, musical scores, manuscripts, books, costume collections, musical instruments, audiovisual content, and press archives.
At the same time, DOTSOFT S.A. supplied and installed specialized digitization and digital content management equipment, supporting the long-term preservation and utilization of the Concert Hall’s cultural archive.
As part of the project, advanced digital applications and electronic services were developed, including:
- Modernization of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall web portal.
- Creation of a digital cultural content library.
- Development of an interactive educational application.
- Implementation of a digital timeline presenting the history of the organization.
- Development of a three-dimensional virtual tour.
- Utilization of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies.
The implementation of the project strengthens the outreach and educational role of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, providing the general public, researchers, and cultural organizations with access to a modern digital environment for cultural information and experiences.
The project was implemented under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation 2014–2020” (MIS Code 5093594) and was co-financed by the European Union (ERDF) and national resources through the Public Investment Programme.
