The project includes the digitization and documentation of more than 500,000 pages of historical archival material, including newspapers from the Epirotic and Athenian press, historical documents, photographs, maps, photocopied material, and film archives. At the same time, the collections are scientifically documented in accordance with Europeana interoperability standards.

As part of the project, the following cultural assets are also digitized:

• 425 artworks from the EHM Art Gallery.
• Historical archives and collections.
• Rare maps.
• Busts of notable figures from Epirus through 3D digitization.
• Photographic and cultural material of significant historical value.

The project also includes the development of integrated digital services and cultural experience applications, such as:

• A virtual museum web application.
• Virtual tour applications for the Library and the Art Gallery.
• Mobile guide applications.
• Augmented reality applications.
• Interactive multimedia applications for touchscreen displays.
• Educational applications for students.
• Development of a digital repository and its migration to the G-Cloud.

The scientific documentation of the collections is carried out by specialized researchers, historians, and philologists, ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality in the presentation and utilization of the cultural material.

The solution contributes significantly to the preservation, protection, and promotion of the historical and cultural identity of Epirus, offering the public, researchers, and educational institutions modern digital experiences for accessing and interacting with EHM’s cultural heritage.
