The project includes the cataloguing and documentation of approximately 4,000 books held by the Municipal Library in Chora, Amorgos. The documentation process makes use of the library’s existing records and supports the systematic organisation and management of the entire collection.

In parallel, rare books and documents comprising approximately 15,000 pages are being digitised, with the objective of preserving, scientifically exploiting and making their content more widely accessible through digital channels.

As part of the project, IT equipment is also supplied to support the management of digital content by library staff and to improve visitor services, together with a specialised book scanner to support the digitisation of archival material.

In addition, a library management system is being implemented, enabling book searches, loan management and improved services for library members and visitors.

The project contributes to the digital transformation of the library and promotes the cultural and intellectual heritage of Amorgos through modern digitisation and content management technologies.
